We are a Norwegian couple, planning to come to Australia on a Work and Holiday visa in January to work on a farm.
Therefore, we are wondering if anyone here know how to get in touch with any farms/ranches that are hiring people for a 4-6 months period? We are looking for a place where it is possible to work with horses. Cattle farms etc, as long as there is some work with horses included.
We have been checking with some travel agencies, but figured we wanted to try find something on our own first, since it most likely will be cheaper.
A bit about us:
Leo is 20 years old, and is currently working with construction of buildings. He is educated as a motor engineer mainly for cars. He has grown up at a farm with harnessracinghorses and a donkey
Here he helped his family out with different tasks, and know how to use different farming equipment.
I'm also 20 years old, I have not grown up on a farm, but I have been helping out with training and taking care of horses since I was 8 years old. Mostly I have been training horses for harness racing, and I've also owned one by myself some years ago. For now I am taking some courses at school, while working as a veterinary's assistant. I am planning to study either veterinary medicine or medicine.
If there is anything else you want to know, just let us know.
